Great pole saw I researched several pole saws prior to purchasing the Poulan Pro PP338PT. Although this is listed as a homeowner model I feel that it has the same features as the professional models I've seen being used by loggers and landscaping professionals. The saw started easily right out of the box and seemed to tackle anything I threw at it while trying it out. I've cut several limbs and small trees that were in the 6 inch range without a hitch. The saw is better balanced than some I've tried in the past and due to this it doesn't fatigue me as easily. It appears to be well made and the instructions were clear and concise enough for even a novice to understand. Being able to operate the saw without the extension shaft is another plus for those times you're only trimming limbs from smaller bushes and trees. April 20, 2012

Repair woes I bought this rebuilt and warranteed from Northern Tool. It worked like a champ the first season. I brought it out and used it once this year and then needed to repair the plastic fuel tank pin hole. The design has two hoses to the carb; once disconnected they are very hard to put back together and seal with any continuity. Forget Sears. They don't want to touch 'em. Be very careful how you lay it down. The cheap plastic parts do not wear well. February 29, 2012
pole saw The fuel line rotted out in 1 year, paid for repair, lasted 8 months. Now the plastic stripped out that the carb screws go in. I have about 10 hours total use and it is shot! Spend the extra money and buy a better one you'll be glad you did in the long run. The Sears repair people will not stand behind this very long and I don't blame them it is cheaply made.
