Tough little Saw. I have had my little saw know about 6 yrs. And have put it through the wringer. I've cut hard woods that it was not designed for. Up to 16" thick. Only problem I have had with it is not wanting to start when it is really cold. I'm talking temps in the single digits. Have to bring it inside to let it warm up before starting. And the tool less chain adjuster sticks a little if the bar gets really hot. But works fine after it cools down. Still have the original bar the only paint that has worn off is the logo. A great little saw at any price. Never been tuned just replaced the spark plug and cleaned the filter and it continues to preform great. March 18, 2014
Good little chain saw for money After having another Poulan chain saw for 7 years and been satisfied with the quality, I purchased a replacement Poulan chain saw (same style/size) in August but just got around to using it now in October. Works well for cutting small to medium sized trees and cleaning up branches. No problems in getting it started and for most part runs well. On occasion, it will idle out if sitting for a few minutes or will need to feather the throttle to get it up to full speed. But when up to speed, cuts well. Would recommend purchase for general yard work type stuff. October 17, 2013
Unable to keep chain from loosening I bought the saw a few years ago, unfortunately I didn't call about this problem sooner and the two year warranty ran out. The saw was used about three times and each time the chain loosened within minutes resulting in damaging the chain. Since I have to use it for a small job now I decided to go on the website to see if this was a common problem which it seemed to be. When I called the service representative he was aware of the problem and said there was a fix available but it would cost $22 since it was out of warranty. The problem seems to be with the tool free chain tightening system and the fix is to replace it with a new plate and using nuts to tighten the chain which is probably the old tried and true system. The bottom line is you have to pay for the obvious design problem or throw the saw away. August 22, 2013
Poulan Pro PP3516AVX Chainsaw I've had this chainsaw for about three years and its been great! The only problem is that sometimes when I set it down to idle it stalls out. Other than that absolutely great saw! I really enjoy using it! July 4, 2013

Did not run well during the winter Ran great during the fall. During the winter it would not remain running and then I couldn't start it. April 15, 2013
Good saw for the money I've had mine for about 7 years now. Overall not a bad saw for the money. The biggest problem is the tool less chain adjuster. The design means you have one tightening bolt for the cover containing the chain tightener instead of two so the chain comes loose more frequently during cutting. Also you need pliers anyway to tighten / untighten the cover plus for the gas cap. Still as long as you maintain the saw it starts easy and the anti vibe handle is nice. I only use mine a couple of weeks a year so for that it is completely adequate. However if I was going to be cutting firewood on a regular basis I would be looking for about a 40-45 CC saw. Still I am satisfied with the saw for what I am using it for now. March 30, 2013
broke on first use I put this saw in service exactly by the manual. After one hour of use it froze up and fried the piston. A certified Poulan repair center was denied warranty work or replacement. I called Poulan directly and was passed around until finally being told I was out of luck and should write the parent company. No more Poulan for me, they do not honor their warranty.
