Did not run well during the winter
Ran great during the fall. During the winter it would not remain running and then I couldn't start it.

Good saw for the money
I've had mine for about 7 years now. Overall not a bad saw for the money. The biggest problem is the tool less chain adjuster. The design means you have one tightening bolt for the cover containing the chain tightener instead of two so the chain comes loose more frequently during cutting. Also you need pliers anyway to tighten / untighten the cover plus for the gas cap.
Still as long as you maintain the saw it starts easy and the anti vibe handle is nice. I only use mine a couple of weeks a year so for that it is completely adequate. However if I was going to be cutting firewood on a regular basis I would be looking for about a 40-45 CC saw. Still I am satisfied with the saw for what I am using it for now.

broke on first use
I put this saw in service exactly by the manual. After one hour of use it froze up and fried the piston. A certified Poulan repair center was denied warranty work or replacement. I called Poulan directly and was passed around until finally being told I was out of luck and should write the parent company. No more Poulan for me, they do not honor their warranty.

Poulan PRO 16in chain saw with 35cc 2-cycle engine
This chain saw was easy to start and handle. In a few minutes it cut through an old stump with ease. I am very pleased with the price and looks.

Good medium duty saw
This is a great saw for someone who uses it to keep a large treed property clear. I have cut about 8 cords of wood 5 of solid green wood and 3 of fallen rotted wood. The saw works great but the safety on the trigger has been pushed in forever. For everyone who says the saw is hard to start they are right... at the start, early for the first 25 starts it was a pig, but now it starts second pull every time. The gas and oil caps are hard to open and my handle broke at the bottom of the saw (my fault, nasty fall) Overall a great saw.

defective saw
I purchased 2 Poulans..a 16" and a 18". The 18"
works like a charm...
the 16" saws drive shaft broke after 2 hours of use.
I can't repair it and need your help.

perfomance of this chain saw
never used such easy to handle chain saw before. light weight,and will handle most any job.

Unreliable and Disappointing
Today's chainsaws with electronic ignition should be easy to start and a joy to use (remember those days from the last century when you spent more time servicing the saw than actually cutting?). My saw worked great out of the box but after 4 years no longer runs. I've maintained it very well with the right fuel mixtures, replacement of the plug, fuel lines and even the carburetor. Had it professionally serviced and it still doesn't run and service has cost more than the original saw. I expect my power equipment to start up first time every time. How hard can it be to design a saw that lasts more than a few years?
