Best value and easy to use I've had my Poulan Pro chainsaw for two years and I love it. It is easy to use and its by far the best value out there. I own 10 acres of land covered with dense hard wood trees. I have cleared over half of the trees and my Poulan Pro has not given me any problems. March 10, 2012
bought two I bought a second poulan last week to run two of them. Can't beat the value. I cut a 36 inch tree with the 18 in bar. I ran it with gas in the tank from last season. Runs great. I run it with xtra oil in the gas. When I bought it it didnt have the xtra chain and the snap of the case was broke. The chain tensioner was popped out hit it with a hammer to set it back in place. But you cant beat the price and performance. Made alot of money with this saw in the city. Took it back to the farm cleared alot of trees. August 10, 2014

It won't cooperate I bought a 260 model, the old name for this line of saws, back in 2000 to learn on. I cut 3 to 4 face cords every year. My intention was to replace it with a "Real Saw" in a couple of years after it died. I have misused and abused this saw in every way imaginable. I have on numerous occasions run the chain into the dirt and against rocks. I do a poor job of mixing oils & gas. I leave fuel in it and the next season crank it up and run it on the fuel that has been sitting in it for months. I have had to replace the bar 3 times, once for a bad sprocket, but twice because I bent the bar trying to get it unstuck after binding in a tree. I did replace the air filter and spark plug last year, after 13 years, because it just seemed that they should be replaced after that much time, and this year I had to replace one fuel line that cracked. I keep waiting for it to die so that I can get a "Real Saw". Who knows, perhaps this is the "Real Saw". If it ever does die, I'll probably get the larger 50cc model. July 3, 2014
Poulan Pro 18" Model# PP4218A "EXCELLENT CHAIN SAW" To: Anyone Needing a Great Product, I have owned several chain saws over the years. And I just have to share, that "this" Poulan Pro 18" Chain Saw, Model# PP4218A is the absolute "BEST CHAIN SAW" I have EVER owned or used. It is a work horse !! It is very easy to start, and starts on the very "first pull". And it cuts like a dream. My daughter can even use this saw with ease, and start it too. Its a very safe saw as well. I really like all of the safety features incorporated into this chain saw also. I recommended the saw purchase to my neighbor, after he saw the ease in me using the saw. And after he tried my new chain saw out for just a few minutes. He ran right out and bought himself on too. I would recommend this saw to "anybody" that is in the market for a very well engineered and built chain saw. Because I am sure that "they" will be just as pleased as I am. Thank You Husqvarna Corporation for Building & Offering such an "Excellent" Brand Name & Product of Poulan Pro Products. 2 months Had the saw for 2 months and the engine locked up. tried to take back but was told used old gas. Was told gas goes bad in 2 weeks by Home Depot. Never got to run 1st gallon through it with oil that came with the saw. Ran the same gas in trimmer and father in-laws saw to finish job with no problems in either. June 16, 2014
Don't buy Terrible chainsaw! Lost compression after 3 uses. Doesn't run well either June 15, 2014
J.U.N.K. I have a 1970's S25 Poulan that is still running great. I bought this saw looking for an upgrade. It didn't run but a month before I started having problems. Gas and oil caps swelled and could not get on or off. I replaced those. It ran terribly, if I could get it started. I replaced the carb thinking it was that. New carb didn't make a difference. Finally tore it down and checked the piston and cylinder. Both were heavily scored. I mixed proper oil/gas ratios every time. Even ran the same gas through my 40 year old Poulan S25 with no problems. I guess they don't make them like the used to. Next saw will be a Stihl. This saw never made it past its two year warranty. The authorized repair center said I used stale gas which voided the warranty. Nice. Blame it on the gas. May 17, 2014
