Excellent value, works like a beast. I bought this trimmer two years ago, I have used it to clear fence lines and clean up around gates and feeders. I have worked it all day long and just keeps going. It is light enough you can haul it in the back of a pick up. It always starts. I change the oil once or twice a year and blow out the air filter and it will work all day. Not one mechanical problem. The round ball came off after I owned it a year. I haven’t replaced it because you can trim a little lower without it on there. August 18, 2012
Designed to fail After less than 5 hours of use the center bearing of the trimmer (not the motor) failed. Grass gets entangled onto the jackshaft via the gaps in this design that it actually destroyed the exposed center bearing. (The lower bearing in the mow ball -on the other hand- is protected from such failure.) The local autherized repair service blamed me for cutting grass! In addition my unit was improperly assembled--the return spring had already chewed over 1/8 inch off the top of the idler pully. The Husqarna version is similar even with an extended collar on the Carrier Plate. May 31, 2012
