works great
this was the most power for the lowest price beating out craftsman cub, ariens, the rest. i love it, it has a slight bigger ogre opening that noted right away. it works even with icy snow and heavy snow hardly ever got clogged. you can spend more but why . only wish i had the money for a wider one, but this 24" is fast..tiers big grip. i just wish stores would carry them more.i had seen one i home depot it was a order that got lost, so they had one i was just looking on line the day before, i bought it... buy one,, its worth it,,,carlo

Fought the blizzard!
Bought this from Amazon. Free shipping and arrived in 2 days. 15 minutes to put together, started right up and chomped through 3 feet of snow just after the blizzard of Feb 2013. Very easy to use, certainly beats shoveling!

disappionted
Bought this blower last season, used it once in Oct 2012. Stored away as per manual and kept it in garage.
I checked it to make sure everything was running ok before storm hit yesterday 2/8/13 and it was fine. Today I started it up and it ran fine while warming, then it started to smoke really bad. I removed the belt cover and the auger belt was twisted and burnt.
When I touched the belt I noticed it was dry rot. How can a new machine have a belt rot after one use and stored indoors? Now I have to take it somewhere to get belts replaced because belts are not covered under warranty. I know it sounds stupid but have them take the cover off and check belts before buying. Very fustrating to spend money on something brand new that you can't use .

Its a beast
Plenty of power. Clears snow right down to the concrete on sidewalk and driveway. Starts easily with pull chord or electric start. One hand operation feature is a plus. Convenient controls. Well built, sturdy steel construction. Only one issue needs resolution: Chute control lever doesn't always rotate chute without manual help from a second hand. Called cutomer support and was told to take unit to authorized repair shop. Would have rated "excellent" in all categories if not for the one issue.

Merry Xmas
The snow thrower broke the plastic base to the chute first useage. I shoveled manually and spent Xmas in the Cardiac Unit Calgary (Foothills) hospital.
The BASE NEEDS TO BE METAL!
Repeat ABOVE! Poor design.
Replaced the part, It now seems to work fine.
