JUNK I have owned this trimmer for one season. It would not stay running. The trimmer head broke. Pull start rope broke. I will not buy another Poulan. I will stay with Ryobi. It lasted several yrs and started every time. November 2, 2013
great trimmer I have had a lawn care business before I retired and used only another brand's equipment. I decided to try this trimmer after reading its characterisitcs. When I got it home and started to use it, I was really surprised to find it was light, handled very well, and did trimming better than any other unit I had used in the past. I wish that I had used this type earlier when I was in business. Have talked to some friends and they report the same service with their Poulan products. Would highly recommend to others. Piece of junk I bought this product with a pole trimmer. It was used maybe 2 hrs. total. It was hard to start from the start. This spring I tried to crank it and could not get it to run. I took it to a repair shop and they checked the compression @ it did not have enough to crank it. He said it was a oil @ gas problem that damaged the motor @ Poulan would not warrant it.I will never buy another Poulan product. I guess I am stuck with a tiller @ pole saw attachment. Cheap junk September 19, 2013
Sluggish I have used my trimmer 4 times and it is always sluggish. Whenever I pull the throttle it takes it about 30seconds to actually run at full speed. It seems like it's taking in air when I initially pull the throttle. I have to get some time off from work so that I can find an authorized dealer to take a look at my trimmer. Other than the throttle issue I really like my trimmer. It starts up without a problem. August 31, 2013
great trimmer excellent with power! Works good when trimming but, damage and, wear of the plastic trimming head with occur if you don't hold it right. I recommend buying a replacement head with more durability cause, even with trimming practice it's easy to hit the ground or even hiden rocks. The engine has superior performance and, kick butt. The one main issue like the last user said is the spool the manual uses the illistrations that don't show you step by step pics to show how to spool and, get the string in the guide holes so, now have to call the companie. Other then that it is great. August 17, 2013
Great pro I love my pro it runs great and the attachment work great with it September 28, 2012
Unit has no power Will not run without choking @ 550' above sea level. Fuel is fresh 87octane (Shell Top Tier), with manufacture supplied synthetic oil. 40:1 ratio mix. September 3, 2012
Not very happy with my purchase When I saw that poulan pro was a division of husky I felt very comfortable buying this trimmer. Well it certainly isn't a Husqvarna. My wife bought this thing for me and out of the box I struggled with it. It started fine but it wouldn't throttle up without stalling. I had to adjust the carb and now it does run. It doesn't have the solid feel that I expected for the cost. Although I will use this until it dies, I'm not too sure I'd buy another poulan product. I think I'll stick with the husky's.
