Read through our "Frequently Asked Questions" for information regarding basic operation and maintenance for the 40V Battery Series products.

Q: Can I use my battery once I get it? 
A: The battery is not shipped fully charged. It is recommended that the battery be fully charged before initial use. With regular use, the battery pack will take 2 hours or less to charge fully.

Q: How do I clean the charger? 
A: Wipe the outside of the charger with a dry, soft cloth. Do not hose down or wash with water.

Q: What do I do with the battery if it becomes cracked or breaks? 
A: Do not place these batteries in your household trash or incinerate them or place them where they will become part of any waste landfill or municipal solid waste stream. For Disposal of these batteries, please call 1-800-822-8837 to find the nearest certified recycling or disposal center.

Q: What maintenance do I need to perform on my Charger? 
A: Here are some simple steps to keep your charger in top performance.

  • Keep the charger clean and clear of debris. Do not allow foreign material to get into the recessed cavity or onto the contacts. Wipe the charger clear with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents or water and do not place the charger in wet conditions.
  • Unplug the charger when there is no battery pack in it.
  • Fully charge the batteries before placing them in storage.
  • Store the charger at normal room temperature. Do not store it in excessive heat. Do not use the charger in direct sunlight. Recharge at temperatures between 32° and 104° F (0-40° C). If battery pack is hot, please allow to cool down before recharging.

Chainsaw

Q: Are you supposed to remove the foam sponge in the oil tank or leave it in? 
A: Do not remove foam sponge from the oil tank. It is there to assist in purifying the oil and preventing dirt and debris from entering the engine.

Trimmer

Q: How do I adjust the cutting path? 
A: The cutting path can be adjusted from 10” to 12” (25.5 – 30.5 cm) with a Philips Head screwdriver. Simply loosen the screw and turn the cutter 180° then tighten the screw.

Q: How do I Clean my String Trimmer? 
A: To clean the String Trimmer, follow these simple steps:

  1. Wipe the outside of the string trimmer with a dry, soft cloth. Do not hose down or wash with water.
  2. Scrape the guard and spool area to remove dried clippings and mud.
  3. Brush or blow dust, debris and grass clippings out of the air vents. Keep them free of obstruction.
It is important to note that use of strong solvents or detergents on the plastic housing or plastic components is not recommended. Certain household cleaners may cause damage and may also cause a shock hazard.

Q: Why does my motor fail to start when I press the trigger switch? 
A: Check to see if the battery is secure in the pack. Ensure the latches on the top of the battery pack snap into place. Also check to see if the battery is charged (according to the instructions included with your model.)

Q: Why does the Cutting Line not advance?
A: Please check to see if the line has become tangled or if the line has run out. If tangled, remove the battery and remove spool cover and spool. Unwind spool and rewind, ensuring that the line is not tangled. 

Hedge Trimmer

Q: If I accidently drop my hedge trimmer will it stay on? 
A: If the Hedge Trimmer is accidently dropped, the Hedge Trimmer will turn OFF and the blade will coast to a stop after several seconds. The hedge trimmer will then be locked OFF again.

Q: What do I do if the motor fails to start when the trigger is depressed? 
A: Check to see if the battery is secure in the pack. Ensure the latches on the top of the battery pack snap into place. Also check to see if the battery is charged (according to the instructions included with your model.)

Q: What do I do if my Hedge Trimmer motor is running but the cutting blades do not move? 
A: The Hedge Trimmer may be damaged. Do not operate. Call for technical service at 1-855-378-6903.

Q: Why does the Motor hum and the blades do not move? 
A: Remove the battery. Check to see if there may be debris or other materials jamming the blades. Clear debris blockage from blades.

Blower

Q: What do I do if the motor fails to start when the trigger is depressed? 
A: Check to see if the battery is secure in the pack. Ensure the latches on the top of the battery pack snap into place. Also check to see if the battery is charged (according to the instructions included with your model.)

Q: What do I do if the blower starts but there is no air flow through the tube? 
A: The blower tube may be blocked. Please remove the battery and clear the blockage.
